Driving in the moonshine

So Saturday night was interesting to say the least..first of all I arrive at Jess's house ready to go out and she's sitting infront of the TV in her ski outfit, thai take-away in hand...So once Britt arrived it took them both 100 outfit choices to go for a "quick" drive to Browny's...2 hours later, after getting lost in Clovelly with a faulty air-conditioner resulting in a constantly fogged up windscreen, we arrived...and that was just the beginning!
I won't go into detail any further, but you get it, it was one adventurous night..
note that I am wearing my new flower garland which embarrassingly I bought at equip...I think it looks good guys...

So last Saturday, Amelia, Jess, Courtney, Gavriel and I spent the day fucking about in the rain trying to get some good shots for Amelia's Design work but due to the horrid weather we decided to just go back up to mine to shoot the rest...in the end we completely changed the aesthetic of the shoot...but you're just going to have to wait to see the final shots, which by the way have nothing to do with any of these..

There's no question about how much hype Miu Miu has recieved since the launch of their S/S 2010 collection...everyone is desperate to get their hands on their nude lady printed collared shirts and swallow print platformed mary janes...as do I! These are the times I wish I were Tavi Gevinson who pretty much owns the whole collection I neeed to be wearing right now...and in my desperation, I'm contemplating DIYing my own collared shirt or if I prove clever enough, my very own Miu Miu inspired platforms...we'll just see how that goes...

All your life you've never seen a woman taken by the wind

So I've decided to share with you my most favourable people each week...the one's who inspire me...
and number one, who else but the lovely Stevie Nicks, lead to the amazing Fleetwood Mac of whom I had the most imponderable pleasure of enjoying live late last year in the gorgeous Hunter Valley...
From her voice to her style, Stevie is just amazing in everything she does..despite her former cocaine addiction, overcoming it due to the possibility of not being able to sing anymore made her a real fighter...Stevie Nick's, you're great...

Put up a fight on a Friday night

Photobucket
Photobucket
So Friday night was very...interesting...I'm just not even gonna go there...To say the least it was an action packed night spent with Chloe and Britt, free drinks and a bit of Missy Elliot made us as happy as we could be on such a night.
I lied before when I said I haven't made any lovely purchases this weekend, because this afternoon I went for a little shop with mummy and got myself a lovely little flower garland headband that Alysha and I spotted embarrassingly at Equip in the city..sorry Alecki, it had to be bought...

My boyfriend

This is my little boyfriend tiddles, he says hi.
So after a very interesting weekend having fun with shitty djs and eating mi goreng for breakfast three days in a row, I haven't actually made any lovely purchases, which is fantastic for my bank account but I've got my eye on this black and white striped knit maxi from General Pants, I want it so bad!
Leopard print cardigan from Zara. For Sydney siders, the cardi is also available at Sportsgirl, which in fact annoyed me a little bit after i thought I'd get it to be a little bit of an individual three seasons ago in Hong Kong...ah well..

Wangderful: Alexander Wang

So over the weekend I officially decided that Alexander Wang is my all round favourite designer...I discovered this when i picked up his spandex bra from the Spring 2010 collection in Cornershop in the Strand, I've been eyeing it since, well, i can't even remember, but its been a long time now..I couldn't even bring myself to touch the Mirte zip boots they were so beautiful..
He proves that neutral colour schemes paired with unusual yet structural silhouettes is the key to beautiful design..I love how he has paired black with splashes of camel and blue velour this season..
My life goal is to now save up for some darling pieces...Alexander Wang, you have my heart..

So I've had these babes for a week now, and I'm already in love...is a week too soon, because it's getting pretty serious now...
I got these babes in China Town, its my secret whereabouts because instead of the usual $149 you'd pay for a pair of ROC territory's I got these for $60...i still became broke though...Ah well, I've been paid since, so it's all good...time for more shopping...

Hold me like you used to. Control me like you used to.

I recommend watching Where The Wild Things Are, it will make you miss being 7 years old, I bawled my eyes out watching it when I got home Saturday night, everything about it is beautiful...

1. Blue faux denim shirt - unknown
2. Grey slouched singlet from Zara
3. My beloved wishbone and cross
4. Cross earrings from Paddy's Market
5. Lace bralette from Cotton on body
6. Leggings (of the little you can see) from H&M
7. Boots...its a secret where i bought them

There's a party going on in my head, and no one is invited

So I'm pretty surprised I've got some basic skills despite my photoshop illiteracy

Side note: I am currently completely and utterly obsessed with Solitude is Bliss by Tame Impala...If you've never heard of these Perth boys, they're well worth the listen...they're classified under the psychedelic hypno-groove melodic rock music genre...try and say that in one breath...I met the boys at their signing on Sunday, surprised that Dominic the bass player remembered me going up to him in the crowd at Big Day Out earlier this year (completely lame that I claim that kind of stuff.)...they really are a blissful bunch..

Be explicit in who you are

These photographs are some of my favourites among those featuring me and the dear Charlitbaby and Camilla..
As you may note I'm sporting the Proenza inspired dip dyed hair, which I haven't done in weeks now...I should get back to that...

Ok so maybe this is a slight re-post from a previous blog of mine...you might see just a bit of that as the week progresses...but I'd like to inform you all of my blog title choice, because I can imagine you're all a bit huh?ish.
Well after a lot of thinking and brainstorming between me and Camilla, I somehow whipped out of nowhere "She like menagerie"...I really, honestly and truly do not believe that this is correct english, but it sort of means, along the lines of  "A collection of things I like", in a more illiterate fashion...

Photography collection: "Welcome to the place i call home, more specifically my bedroom"
1. New purchase, bralette from cotton on body, still, its delish
2. Who doesn't wish they were a mermaid?
3. My bowl of goodies
4. It's like a bed display in ikea, just messier
5. I'm currently reading Peggy Guggenheim's autobiography, and I am telling you now, it is well worth the read. As if you don't want to spend your life art dealing the likes of Pollock and Cornell
6. Behind here are the items that keep me un-naked, we'll explore this later. Charming decorative post-it by Camilla Bracey, Follow her at

For those of you who previously followed "Not So Shy", I am so sorry for somehow deleting you... computers and I don't get along sometimes, but I promise this reading is gonna be a whole lot better now, what with my new camera and heightened ability to actually use blogger now...So I've promised you better reading and I promise not to delete you all again, I think we've come to a good agreement?..P.s you might be seeing a few re-posts from my old blog, because believe it or not, it's hard for me to part with it too...(well that was some self-flattery at its finest)

Crochet top, from Camilla's wardrobe. I insisted I'd wear it, she really had no say...
